"Kirakukan" was once the entertainment and cultural center of the central Kanonji district, and from a historical and cultural perspective, it is a valuable asset to the city, connecting the past and the future. In 2007, "Kirakukan" will function for a certain period as an "art station," a hub for promoting arts and culture. During this period, artists from both within and outside the region will be invited to propose ways to utilize the space that reflect their ideas and expressions, and various programs will be implemented.
The artists will use the "art station (Kirakukan)" as a production studio, and will proceed with their activities while actively interacting with local residents.
Furthermore, at the annual city event (Dopikaan Festival), a concert (stage performance) will be held using the city as a stage, providing an opportunity for more people to experience this project.
Through these activities, the "art station" will be created, and by existing in the city for a certain period, it aims to create a place for new encounters and interactions among people passing through the city, and to generate opportunities to re-examine and reimagine the current community and environment.
