The paintings that emerged from his residency in Kyoto were later presented in a solo exhibition at Galerie Grand E’Terna. in Paris. In parallel with the exhibition, Nanjo visited and researched the locations where his paintings were created, including Giverny, Pont Neuf, Fontainebleau Forest, Barbizon, and Étretat, all places that have been etched in art history. This was an attempt to reinterpret landscapes as layers of time, moving back and forth between the history accumulated in Kyoto and Paris, and the way painting has been linked to place.

This series of works, which developed as a result of a residency in Kyoto, was later presented as a solo exhibition at Galerie Grand E'Terna. in Paris. Yoshitaka Nanjo positions painting not as a device for visual reproduction, but as a practice that mediates between the historical time accumulated in the land and bodily experience. During his stay in Paris, Nanjo actually visited places that marked turning points in landscape representation in art history, such as Giverny, Pont Neuf, Fontainebleau Forest, Barbizon, and Étretat, conducting fieldwork through walking and observation. Just as Monet fixed the changes in light and time through his series of works, and Corot quietly depicted the overlapping of nature and memory, landscapes have always been imbued with temporality and corporeality. Furthermore, as Christo's project demonstrates, place can update the very framework of perception through intervention. This series of works, while traversing between Kyoto and Paris, cities with different historical contexts, redefines painting as "an act of touching a place," and attempts to spatially re-examine the relationship between time, memory, and landscape.
